Alternative Spring Break
Students were given the opportunity to participate in a program during spring break to learn about sustainable living and farming. Funding was also available to them through the Office of Sustainability.
Students were able to go and learn about ways they can implement sustainable living into their lives. Some of them are involved with the Gardening Club and installation of our campus garden, so they were able to get ideas and learn gardening practices while they were away.
This opportunity was made available through the Office of Sustainability. Interested students contacted our Chief Sustainability Officer and attended an informational meeting to learn about the program and funding opportunities.
MISTAKES & LESSONS LEARNED
This was a great program, but not many students were made aware of it, so further advertising is needed.
Continue to have opportunities like this so that students can be immersed in sustainabile living and bring those ideas back to campus. Also, to advertise more so that more students can get involved in initiatives like this.
